Community Services

The Community Services site houses five different programs that offer an array of free services to the community:

Transitional Housing

The Transitional Housing program is designed to help youth 17-21 who are currently homeless or are facing immediate risk of homelessness by providing rental assistance and in depth case management.

Street Outreach

Street Outreach helps youth between the ages of 10 and 21 who are homeless, couch hopping, or at risk of being homeless. Street Outreach advocates for the needs of each person on an individual basis and helps with food, diapers, counseling, and area information (among many other things).   Services are free, confidential, and totally voluntary.

Youth & Family Counseling

Our Youth & Family Counselor provides help to youth and/or parents.  Meetings might address (but aren't limited to) such issues as communication, conflict resolution, anger management, and acceptable behaviors.

Kinship North

Kinship North is a formal mentoring program that serves the Bemidji & Blackduck area and matches children ages 5 to 15 with caring volunteer mentors.  Kinship North strives to improve the lives of children by helping them establish relationships with adult mentors who will offer stability, asset building, enrichment, support and friendship.

Independent Living Skills

The Independent Living Skills program works with youth between the ages of 16 and 21 who have been (or are currently) in an out of home placement (i.e. foster care).  Life 101 teaches life skills during group sessions.

*The Bemidji Rock Sober Youth Group is also based out of this site for their activities on Mondays and Fridays.*
