Independent Living Skills

Who can be in the Independent Living Skills program?

Independent Living Skills (ILS) is a free program for youth ages 16-21 who have been (or are currently) in an out-of-home placement.  Placements could be in: foster care, a group home, mental health facility, chemical dependency treatment center, or a non-secure correctional facility.

What does the Independent Living Skills program do?

ILS offers young people the tools needed to transition into adulthood and succeed on their own! Youth meet one-on-one with a member of the ILS team to develop an individualized independent living skills plan.  Youth also have the opportunity to participate in a series of “skills group” classes that cover a wide variety of topics that are important for self-sufficiency.
